Just Dance is committed to providing quality tuition in a variety of dance styles. Classes are held for children from walking up to adults.
Emma started taking Ballet classes at the age of 3 and worked her way through all of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) Cecchetti grades up to Advanced and then taking and passing her teaching exam in 1997. Emma began assisting in children’s classes at the age of 14, so she has 25 years teaching experience. To enable teachers to remain registered with the ISTD, they are required to update their qualifications, by going on courses and taking more exams. Emma has done this successfully and is continuing to do so. Emma began Modern/Jazz classes at the age of 10. Again Emma worked her way through the ISTD Modern grades to Advanced 2 and gained her Modern teaching exam in 2000. Emma then spent her time teaching in Putney, Surrey and Hampshire, both in Independent Schools, Dance schools and Nurseries. She also spent some time teaching in America. After starting Just Dance 8 years ago, Emma has spent her time living in Wincanton, with her husband and sons and slowly building the dance school up. In 2010, Emma decided to expand her school by introducing Streetdance classes. So, Emma attended a Streetdance Teacher Training Course (with the Streetdance Teacher Training Company) and is now a certified Streetdance Teacher. To gain more knowledge for these classes, Emma attended a course in London and was taught by Alex ‘Mechanikool’ Peters (mentor to Diversity), Fred Folkes (one of the Locking masters) and Sasha (a choreographer to the start and Break Dance Champion). Emma is also a licensed Zumba and Zumbatomic Instructor. Emma is a well respected dancer and still attends lessons, to ensure her technique is of a high standard. Emma has dedicated her life to Dance in all shapes and forms, including Tap, National, RAD and ISTD Ballet, Jive and more. She believes everyone should have a chance to Dance. Teaching dance is not just a job to Emma, it is a life-long passion. Emma is fully CRB checked and is accredited by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD).
