My History

I was born in St. Mawes Cornwall. I left school at 15 because I had the chance of and apprenticeship in carpentry & joinery, I did 4 years at college on day release I aquired passes in City & Guilds of London institute in Carpentry & Joinery Craft, Advanced Craft, A.I.B.I.C.C, Construction Technicians Certificate and a full Technological Certificate in Building Crafts in Principals of Construction, Building Science, Building Calculations & Craft Foremanship Studies.

I am confident conversing with Architects, Structual Engineers and Quality Surveyors and I will always try to steer all those professions to my way of thinking to illiminate costly and impractical designs. I have been a member of the FMB for 10 years which has government endorsed standards in the TRUST MARK SCHEME.

We are also warrented builders and can provide insurance cover with the masterbond warranty for anything that we build if thats your requirement.
We are also memebers of the CITB and have trained employees in Construction Skills and Health and Safety.
We have built a public building and we specialise in New Builds, Renovations, Conversions and Extensions.
I have been working in construction for 38 years of which 6 was employed and the rest self employed, I started my own company 15 years ago and now employ 7 employees who are talented, hard working men. I use my own name for the company not St. Mawes builders or A.B.C Builders, and if I do a bad job my name is on it.

I do 90% of my work mainly in a 15 mile radious mainly in St. Mawes. I am going nowhere and I cant hide, I will allways be here on the end of a phone to call on to put anything right if that should occur.
I have strong traditional values incorporating and constantly evaluating new methods, materials and technology, using green and sustainable materials, solar energy moving towards a self sufficiant future.

I believe in producing the best possible job and getting it right first time this will conflict against speed but drying out time is very important to minimise shrinkage and getting a good finish.
A building with a good finish will look good forever and thats the most important thing!
